Membership

Over the past few weeks I have become a member of two different organizations! One of them was a first for me. Two weeks ago, after much thought, I joined a gym! I decided that since I have nothing to do during the day, I would try to get myself into shape for whatever adventure I will be headed on after Jubilee! Nate and I go together (because there is no way that I would go by myself!) and so far, we have done pretty well.  I have never seen so many muscular men in one place.  Some of them have biceps that are the size of my thigh!  We took a kickboxing class the first week and I think that has been my favorite so far, but boy was I sore!

The second organization I became a member of is the library!  It is right down the road from our apartment and I have wanted to get a library card for quite a while now, so today I finally went.  I borrowed a book to read during my down time backstage of the show.  It was been awhile since I took out a book and it brought me right back to the Baxter Memorial Library.  The library is a special place and I'm so glad that I finally have a card.

Happy 32nd Birthday Jubilee!

On July 31st Jubilee! celebrated its 32nd Birthday. I am so honored to be a part of this Las Vegas legend. There are very few shows that have lasted that many years. Here's to many more!

Food, Glorious Food

Everyone knows that I love good food and I love to eat.  This post is a nice tribute to food and friends.  One of the male dancers in the cast organized a Thanksgiving dinner in July because he was craving turkey and a thankful meal.  We all had to bring a dish that we loved.  Since I missed Thanksgiving last year because I was on the Celebrity Solstice, I thought this was a wonderful idea.  I also knew exactly what I wanted to bring.  I emailed Aunt Barbara and got the recipe I was after.  Cranberry Broccoli Salad.  Yum!  It was a delicious meal and reminded me just how much I have to be thankful for.  You can't just be thankful on Thanksgiving, every single day is a gift!

Nate and I also hosted a BBQ at our apartment last Friday.  It was a day filled with great grilled food, sun, friends and a cool dip in the pool.  It was a great day!

Jubilee! Re-Auditions

The end of July we had re-auditions for the next 6 month contract of Jubilee!  They held auditions in Los Angeles, San Francisco, New York and here in Las Vegas.  We didn't have to sing or dance again, we just had to line up on stage in hopes that he have proved our worth during this past contract.  It was a nice opportunity to take pictures with the other singers!

L-R: Aron, Jessica, Chris, Dia, Artie, Laurie, Michael, Kirbi and Stephen

About a week later, I was offered another contract with Jubilee!  I am so thankful that my hard work and dedication paid off.  However, at this time I decided not to accept another contract.  There are a lot of things that played into my decision, but at this moment, I think that I have made the right choice.  I may come back at some point in the future, but for now I will be done September 26th and then I'll be off on another adventure!

P.S. My friend Mariel and two of her Centre of Movement dancers were in Las Vegas for a Ballet Seminar.  I am so glad that Mariel was able to see Jubilee! and that we were all able to take a picture after the show. Apparently, when the girls were asked if they had met anyone famous in Vegas, they said "Yes, we met Jessica.  She's a showgirl!"  How cute!

It was an absolutely amazing week!  I feel beyond blessed to have the family that I have.  Not only are they beautiful, but they all have the biggest hearts, desire to explore and such a sense of togetherness.  I am amazed that I was lucky enough to be born into this family.  Every time that we go on a vacation together I am reminded of just how incredible they are.  I hope that we keep this tradition going for many years to come.  I love them!  This vacation they helped me appreciate Las Vegas more than I thought was possible.  Together we did all the tourist-y activities that I hadn't done yet and it turned out to be awesome!  Thank you Mom, Dad and Andrew for loving me so much and for spending your vacation with me.  I can't wait to see where we go next summer :)
